Let the River Run Silver Again!

Let the River Run Silver Again!

Blacksburg, Virginia: The McDonald and Woodward Publishing Company, 2005.

This is the true story of how Shad in the Classroom restored shad populations to the Potomac River.

Good Points:

  • Maps, diagrams, and very good explanations of many concepts and engineering feats (such as fish ladders).
  • Great photos and details of program—much to identify with.
  • Great conservation message.

Other Notes:

  • Unlike TIC, this is clearly a stocking program.
  • Written as a nonfiction narrative—good as a resource.
  • Takes place in Maryland.
